The Site:
Curbridge, a private residence in Southampton
The Brief:
The client wanted a small MUGA within their premises. The site needed surfacing for football with basic line markings.
Process:
Installation of Championship fencing which offers a good level of rebound, durability and performance.
3G grass was selected as this offers excellent ball bounce properties and looks like natural grass. 3G allows play all year round and is a great drainage solution for waterlogged sites.
Equipment Installed:
• Championship fencing – 26m x 16m MUGA with no goal recesses
• 2m high sports rebound fencing with posts at 2.525m centres; including 1 single leaf gate 1.2m wide
• 416m2 3G Grass
The Challenges:
The site was quite waterlogged so the time was taken to ensure the macadam underlay surfacing was laid when the site was dry, The combination of the 3G grass and the tarmac with stone base and drainage allowed for a good drainage system to be in place for long term use.
The Outcome:
The installation was successful and a great football pitch was created. The pitch can be used all year round and the use of the 3G grass means no maintenance throughout the year.
